今朝のメルボルンは、5℃とこの冬一番の寒さとなった。昼になっても気温は上がらず10度ほど。更に強い風が吹いた。これから益々寒くなるメルボルンだ。

 光は、我々人類にとって意味するものは何か？ 光の贈り物は、光が文化に迎えたとって如何に大切かを教え、メルボルンに豊かなマルチカルチャーが存在することを伝える。今年の南半球の冬至は6月21日。昼が最も短く、夜が長い。これからメルボルンは、冬の時期を迎える。

メルボルンのアボリジニに敬意を払う象徴。
Produced by artist, Vicki Couzens and Indigenous elders, Leempeeyt Weeyn' returns this year as the centrepiece of The Gift of Light. Burning continuously throughout the month, the campfire and its flame represent a warm, family meeting place for Australia's Indigenous communities.
 Join us around the campfire for a series of performances, workshops and
storytelling as a diverse range of Indigenous practitioners share their
culture with Melbourne. The Campfire Program will include contributions
from: Ron Murray, Rob Bundle, Uncle Larry Walsh, Uncle Herb Patten, Robert
Bamblett, Monica Weightman, Len Tregonning and Patricia Harrison.
 冬至(Solar Equation)
中央の赤い球は、太陽を表しており、実際の大きさなの１億分の１の大きさ。
この球体自体が赤く染まっているのではない。白色の球体をスクリーンとして、５つのプロジェクターで映像を映し出している。
実際の太陽の画像を球体スクリーン投影している。
